ibara safaris ("we," "us," "our") designs private, bespoke safaris across Uganda. This policy explains what information we collect when you enquire with us or use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, and a small amount of technical information collected automatically.
- Enquiry details. When you submit our enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, party size, preferred travel dates, indicative budget, safaris of interest, and any message you include.
- Direct correspondence. If you email, WhatsApp, or call us directly, we keep a record of that conversation to plan and confirm your trip.
- Technical information. Our enquiry form provider (Netlify) automatically records the IP address, browser type, and referring page associated with a form submission, for security and spam-prevention purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your enquiry and design a private itinerary around your dates, interests, and budget.
- To communicate with you about your trip — confirmations, logistics, and updates.
- To coordinate with the lodges, camps, guides, and drivers involved in delivering your safari.
- To meet legal, safety, or regulatory obligations, including those of the Uganda Tourism Board.
We do not use your information for automated advertising profiling, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
How We Share Your Information
We share information only where necessary to arrange your safari — for example, passing your name and travel dates to a partner lodge to confirm a reservation, or to a driver-guide to plan your itinerary. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
Our website hosting, enquiry form, and email are provided by companies based in the United States. If you contact us from outside Uganda or the United States, your information will be processed and stored outside your home country as a result. We only work with providers that maintain appropriate security standards.
Cookies & Tracking
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
Data Retention
We retain enquiry and booking information for as long as needed to plan your trip, respond to any post-trip correspondence, and meet our own record-keeping and legal obligations. You may request that we delete your information at any time, subject to records we are required to keep by law.
Your Rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, where we are not required to retain it.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us, including secure hosting and encrypted (HTTPS) connections across this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
This website and our services are intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
